Milwaukee Instruments MA911B/2 Double Junction Ph Electrode

I purchased an Pinpoint pH probe which I never got around to setting up. I pulled off the tip and found the gel has dried up.

Is there a way to test to test the probe to determine if its still functional?

If not, I'm planning on replacing it with a Milwaukee Instruments MA911B/2 Double Junction Ph Electrode from amazon.com

Will this work on my Apex classic?

    Thanks in advance.

Soak in your sump or tank and for a day, then see if it gives a somewhat realistic reading. If so calibrate and use. If not, replace.

    Edit - iPhone auto-mangling fixed.

I will definitely soak the ph probe.

Any idea if the Milwaukee MA911B probe will work with the classic Apex?

After soaking my pH probe for a couple of days before calibrating using ph 7.0 and 10.0 solution, its been working great me until a week ago where the pH went from 8.00 +/- up to 8.10+.

I measured the pH using a test kit and the pH is at 8.0.

How do I know when the pH probe is at end of life?

    Thanks in advance!

You know it's near the end of life when there is consistently significant drift between monthly calibrations. If it says 8.2 before calibration and then says 8.0 after calibration then it might be time to replace.

Now its confirmed my pH probe is no longer working properly..... back to my original question, will the Apex support the Milwaukee Instruments MA911B/2 Double Junction pH Electrode from amazon.com

Its a great deal at $37 for double junction pH probe. The $40 price point typically gets you a standard pH probe never mind a dual junction probe.

Has anyone used one on their Apex? Opinions?

It should work just fine. The second pH probe on my Apex is the double junction model from BRS, and it calibrates and functions identically to the Neptune branded one.
