    Radion plug question

I’m sorry if this has be answered before, I didn’t know how to search for it. If I’m controlling two radions with the wxm, should I be plugging them into the apex power strip as well or is that just taking up spots I could be using. I imagine the only time I would need that is if the tank was over heating and the lights lost connection right? Advice please. I have a lot to plug in and don’t want to waists outlets on the apex if I don’t have to. Same question for other apex controlled products like the voterch or reef octopus skimmer. Thanks!

Does it still keep track of the power usage?

So why don't we connect the Radion to the POWER BAR?

I'm just not understanding what the issues is? then how if the temp get to high what shuts then down?

In the advance tab, you can add this after the Tdata:

    If Temp_T > 81.5 Then OFF
    Min Time 030:00 Then OFF

Oh course use your temp probe name, temp value, and min time to stay off.

I would not suggest that for radions. It is important for halides because they are very high power and can add a lot of heat to the tank. With LEDs the amount of heat transferred to the tank is small enough that it makes nearly no difference. If one is worried about the small difference, it is better to dim them then shut off completely.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

I can see your point, but to the poster's question, then how if the temp get to high what shuts then down? I was merely explaining to him that it could be done in the coding.

Isn't one of the advantages of the new apex that it tracks your power usage? Can it still do that if the lights aren't plugged in? If you have the space on your power strip should you plug them in for this reason?

Yes that is a nice feature of the New Apex 2016. I am running (3) XP G4 Pros, and I have all three plugged into a strip which in turn is plugged into one outlet on the EB832 for this very reason.
However, I do not intend to control the power to the Radion's. They will remain ON at all times.
I don't think it's possible to track the power usage unless they are plugged in.
