Command point is gray instead of red

When programing a switch into an output command, one of the switch commands is showing gray not red. It is my high level optical switch on the ATK showing up gray. The lower optical switch command is red. Both optical switches are working as I checked them by raising and lowering the water level and watched them open and close respectively. Everything seems to be working but I can't figure out why the switch is gray.

Mine too. Maybe everyone's? Works though. Perhaps it's a minor programming bug.

    What i'm looking at.

Notice the "ATK_HI" is colored gray, not red.

Not being snarky, but if it works does it matter what color it is?

Maybe not to some. And possibly not as far as the tank operation is concerned. But I do know everywhere else, the outputs and switches are red. And the commands are blue. The rest is lavender. So if only one piece of code in the hundreds i have is gray, i can't help but wonder why. Maybe it's just my OCD and i want everything to be consistent. I do know there are some very knowledgeable folks here so hopefully someone will have an explanation.

Oh Snap! Mine was grey for awhile, but now it's red, I just checked. Maybe with an update?

But the one on the second tank, which I just set up, is grey! (And it works fine.)

Both systems are running fully updated firmware. The AOS and FMM firmware is the same for both, but the older system has more other modules and also has been through quite a few updates. The new system AOS has been updated once.

Hmm. It's a mystery for sure, but low priority.

I have had that happen when I inputted the name with the wrong case sensitivity and it autocorrected before, but It didnt usually happen and it was hard to recreate. Try typing it over again and select the auto drop down when you type and see if it goes red then.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

I did that. "ATK_HI" shows up in the dropdown box but is still gray. Something i noticed though that i didn't mention is that when i begin typing the next statement after "ATK_HI" which is "CLOSED" I have to type the complete word "CLOSED" because it does not show up in a dropdown box. If i add another line using "ATK_LO" then "CLOSED" the word CLOSED is in a dropdown box as soon as I type the "C". So this being gray does affect something. I even tried changing the sensor name and the new name is gray also.

Also tried this, on the new setup. Although the low sensor name is in the drop down list and can be selected, it remains grey in the programming line.

I shall await it turning to a proper reddish hue with some future AOS or FMM firmware update.

I had the same issue. The high end was being read as a different sensor for flow. What I did was unhook everything for a few minutes before following directions to set it up again. Now it works fine.

I assume you mean to unplug the optical sensor from the FMM for a few minutes then plug it back in. I'll try it this weekend and see what happens.

If one of your optical sensors was registering as a flow sensor, you probably still have auto detect turned on. Go to the modules page, select the appropriate FMM, and manually set each input to the proper type.

I do have auto detect on. i have optical sensors installed in each of the four ports (2 for ATK, one for skimmer collection container & one for high sump safety) and they are all reading optical sensor. I don't like to mess with any hardware during the week as I don't have the time to physically monitor it for an extended period of time. I will completely remove everything and reinstall it this weekend.

I just posted a thread with the same problem before seeing this. It's happening to me on a single breakout box float switch. But nothing else, even on identical float switches on the same breakout box.
