No luck setting up webcam in Jr. using Actiontec router...

    ...as stated...
Actiontec C1900A router. I have access to admin page. I'm using an android LG 8.3 tablet with the app IP Webcam connected to my home network. It streams on the tablet and has 192.168.0.17:1024 (1024 this time but it changes). I know I have to change to a static IP address (don't know how). Has something to do with port forwarding too??? Any help would be appreciated.

Typically the easier way to to make sure something gets the same IP address all the time is to use DHCP, I have never seen the interface of an Actiontec but your camera should have an MAC address that look like 6 pairs of characters that can be anything from 0 to 9 and A to F, it might look something like 00:A0:C9:14:C8:29. You need the MAC address and the IP address you are going to use, it is going to be 192.168.0.xxx, let's make it 192.168.0.20. Find somewhere in the interface of the Actiontec by log in as admin and look for DHCP, basically what we are trying to do is telling your router every time it sees the MAC address of your IP CAM, make it use 192.168.0.20, that way it won't change ever. Port forwarding is typically used when you want to view your webcam from outside of your network, say a hotel room. We already know the port is 1024 (that won't change, what's changing is probably the 17 part) port forwarding is telling your router if it receives request from the outside on a certain port, direct that traffic to port 1024 on 192.168.0.20 (assuming we already finish setting up DHCP), if you set port forwarding from port 2048 to port 1024 of 192.168.0.20. all you need to do when you are away from home is hit your WAN address (go to www.whatismyip.com, it'll show you your WAN address, it won't be 192 anything and it changes from time to time) for example your WAN address is 65.144.182.220, instead of 192.168.0.20:1024 which you use at home, you need to hit 65.144.182.220:2048 and your router will get a request on port 2048 and know that this is for port 1024 on 192.168.0.20 and you will see your ip cam.

What do you mean by "...what's changing is probably the 17 part..."?
