    Leak detected with no leaks

Just got my apex set up over the weekend. I have the FMM with 2 leak detection sensors. They keep closing without there being any water. I've turned auto detect off because I read that could be problematic. Could it be high humidity in the stand? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Place a paper towel under them and see if the issue persists.

Thanks. That seems to have fixed the problem.

I’ve had my leak detection probe for almost 2 years and had no problems, no false alarms etc. I recently stripped the cabinet down, sanded and repainted the interior to create a sealed ‘pan’ for the sump area. Now, anytime a little water get under the sensor (tank maintenance guy often splashes a little out), it will give false alarms for almost 2weeks. I dry the sensor and the area well with paper towels after the 1st alarm but it keeps altering.
I suspect the paint itself may have some level of conductivity, at least for several days after getting any water on it. It is a high quality alkyd paint chosen to have great resistance to water. Maybe after several more months of curing, it will stop this behavior. Currently though, the paper towel trick seems to work well to prevent false alarms.
