Multiple WXM's with Multiple MP-40W-QD's on Multiple Tanks - They are confused!

Back story... Current 80 gal tank running Apex Classic, WXM and (2) MP-40W QD's. Been running flawlessly for over 3 years.

Upgrading to a 120 gal, New Apex 2016, New WXM (needed gray since black doesn't match), (2) New MP40W QD's (3) New Radion XR30 G4 Pro lights.

Set up new Apex, attached the MP40's and Radions to the WXM, all firmware up to date.

80 gal still running while I complete the dry build of the 120 in another room.

This issue is that the new set up is messing with the MP40's on the old tank. In Fusion for the new tank in the WXM module, I only see the (2) new MP40's and the (3) new Radions. On the 80, I only see the (2) MP40's that run on that tank. However, if I turn the MP40's off on the new tank, the old tank shuts off to. The new tank is also messing with the programming for the old tank. The old tank never missed a beat, but now the MP40's will speed up, change the type of program, Sync, Un-Sync, etc... You get the picture. So for the time being since the new tank is dry, I simply disconnected the WXM. When I did this the old tank was back to normal.

Problem is I need to get this fixed, because as soon as the 120 goes on-line, the WXM from the old tank will be used to control a new MP10 and Radion XR15 G4 Pro on a frag tank in the same room.

So any ideas? Anyone have similar experiences?
    TIA

Using multiple WXMs (or multiple Reeflinks too) can be tricky.

Change the channel on one of the WXMs. Using the Module setup page - there are two Radion channels.

Before you pair a Vortech or attach a Radion to one WXM, disconnect the other WXM temporarily.

    Russ,
Quick question, when I change the WXM frequency from 1 to 2, will the Vortecs and Radions follow or will I need to remove them, change the frequency then reattach?

Once I do change the frequency, do I click the upper right send to Apex Cloud, or the WXM RF Update Cloud?

It’s hard to predict what will happen when you switch the channel.

Use the Send cloud button. RF Update does a firmware update to the radio module, which you do not need to do - it’s already running the latest.

Thanks, shall give it a whirl tonight when I'm sitting arm's length away from a possible run away tank vs trying it remotely.

They typically will follow and you don't need to re-attach them- at least that has been my experience. You'll know that it has switched to channel to when the line:

    Rev 1.15 RF 1.2 (1,2,3,3)....

    changes to:

    Rev 1.15 RF 1.2 (2,2,3,3)....

Ok, so I changed the frequency to 2, sent the update, rebooted the Apex to be sure, and the 2016 is still controlling the MP40’s on the Apex Classic.

    Anything else i might try?

Need to reset everything back to factory settings then. To do this:

    1. Tank A WXM connected, Tank B WXM disconnected
    2. Power down Tank B Radions/Vortechs
    2. Factory reset Tank A Vortects: set + mode, set, mode
    3. Reset Radions to Factory settings via ETM Connection Manager- USB Radion
    4. Reattach Tank A Vortechs: set +mode, tap set
    5. Attach Tank A Radions
    6. Power down Tank A Radions/Vortechs and disconnect Tank A WXM
    7. Connect Tank B WXM- confirm it is on channel 2
    8. Factory Reset Tank B Vortechs and Radions using instructions above
    9. Attach Tank B Vortech and Radions
    10. Power up Radions, Vortechs and WXM on Tank A
    11. Configure

This is the scorch earth method and probably isn't completed needed but will get everything in the right place. Contact Tech support if you continue to have trouble.

Hey Just added Apex 2016. I got my Radion Light to attach, but lost my MP10's. I di factory reset with the mode + set buttons on MP10's but wxm can't find them.

    Thoughts?

That is only the first step of a two-step process. See Paul's post in this thread. Or better, use the Get Started Guide for WXM & Vortechs. https://www.neptunesystems.com/getstarted/wxm/
