DOS for AWC and Top up

I am hoping to use my DOS to do small AWC on a daily basis and then once a week, say Sunday, use the freshwater pump to fill up any loss from evaporation. Using the wizard I've got the old water out and new water in set up over a 12hr period from 1am to 1pm. To add the Sunday top up I was thinking to do the following:

FillDOS (VO)
Set OFF
If Time 23:00 to 23:59 Then ON
If DoW -MTWTFS Then OFF
If OPT_LO CLOSED Then ON // optical sensor to where I want to refill to
If OPT_HI CLOSED Then OFF //High water optical sensor (just in case if the water overfills)
When On > 059:59 Then OFF

Then in the DOS advanced tab I'd put
If FillDOS ON Then ON

Would this work? Or is there a more elegant way to do this?

I don't have a dos so may not understand this correctly. If you are using a dos for old saltwater out and new saltwater in, what are you filling to make up for evaporation? Evaporation top of is not saltwater, salt doesn't evaporate.

Sorry I wasn't clear before, I use this for a FW tank, so it's old FW out, new FW in and the top up is from the FW reservoir.

Just make the total amount for the FW head a bit more than evaporation on a really dry day plus the water change amount. Then just add these two lines to the new FW in the advanced tab.

If OPT_LO CLOSED Then OFF
If OPT_HI CLOSED Then OFF

This will keep you continually topped off and consistent water level.


You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.
