    New Neptune probe shipped dry

Just opened my new Apex and looking at the red probe, it looks like the fluid has been leaking and the probes is new. Is this an issue?

The pH and ORP probes are not dry; there is still enough storage fluid in them; they'll be fine.

Thanks for the quick response. I have added it to the aquarium but the reading is very low so not convinced it is OK as it is reading 199?

ORP probes take a while to become conditioned; don't worry about the ORP reading for now; give it a week. You'll probably see a slow rise over the next several days.

OK, many thanks, It has just dropped to 198 but will wait a week and see if it rises. Many thanks for such a quick response :-)

Is the same true for the salinity probe as well? Just calibrated and when I put it in the aquarium it read 35. After few minutes it dropped to 0. I recalibrate and it read 34.9 when I put it in the aquarium and is now reading 1.1.

I pushed the probe deeper into the water and now it is reading 36. It may not have been in the water far enough so I will keep on eye on it.

Yes, but to a lesser degree. Mine drifted about 2 ppt over the course of 4 days and most of the drift was within the first 12 hours.

Many thanks, the salinity probe seems to be fine now so it was my fault for not submerging it enough! I am not convinced my orp probe is good as it has dropped to 191 but will leave it a bit longer. I will contact the company i brought the Apex from so it is on record that it was delivered and the liquid has been clearly leaking just in case it has not improved after a week.

A quick update, I contacted the company I brought the Apex kit from and they are sending out a new ORP probe. Great service :-)
The probe is currently sitting at 178 so it has a looooong way to go before it corrects itself!
