    IP Cam Help Pls

I have a Amcrest IP2M-841 cam that I can not get to display on the fusion dashboard. I have setup the port forward for the cam and confirmed that the port is open but still no luck. Can anyone help me out please.

    Cheers and Thanks
    Lawrence

I have two Amcrest cams operating with Fusion. Please see my posts in these threads. I can also address specific questions.

Thanks for this help...... I am not sure where i am going wrong. I have configured the camera settings as per your write up and configured the apex settings same as yours. Still no picture.

Here are some screenshots with comments. It's possible that you missed a single step somewhere.

First, the Amcrest camera settings pages.

Camera-Video: Be sure the Sub Stream Enable checkbox is checked, with the sub stream parameters matching these.

Network-TCP/IP: Be sure it's set to Static, with your own specific IP address. Other info here is typical but could differ with some networks.

    Clipboard02b.jpg

Network-Connection: Make sure that the HTTP port is set to something other than the default of 80. You should choose a large-ish number that doesn't conflict with other known services.

    Clipboard03b.jpg

System-Manage Users: Create a separate username and password for Live View access only. Not required but strongly recommended.

Now, in your router, Port Forwarding should be set up something like below. Internal and external ports must match the same number you set up for HTTP in the camera.

Next, most routers now have a DDNS setup option. You can use this, or use the one in the Amcrest camera, or just setup it up directly with a provider. It can take several hours to start working when first set up.

Finally, in Fusion, here's what the Media Details should look like. First black box is view-only sign-in password. Second black box is your ddns domain name. Third is the port number you configured both in the camera and the router.

Sooooo... When I change the http port to anything but 80 in the camera network settings i can not log on with the amcrest software to view the camera. Is this normal. All steps prior to this one are the same as yours.

Did you reboot your cam after changing the http port? I don't recall if a reboot was needed but it's possible.

Which software isn't working for you? Both the Amcrest View app on iPhone and the web-based Amcrest View interface work (although the latter is pretty clunky and I don't generally use it.)

The way I sign into my cams if I need to adjust something, when I'm at home, is to just type the cam's local IP address plus port number into the browser. For example, http://192.168.1.80:9999/ Should bring up the username/password interface. Then just save that as a bookmark. When I'm not at home, I can make adjustments with the Amcrest View phone app.

I tried to follow instructions, took a long time to get the DDNS stuff to work. for some reason, I can view it on a website, but when I paste into APEX dashboard it has broken image following your instruction.

What browser are you using to view? Some newer browsers don't support the MJPEG stream.

I tried chrome (I know that doesnt work), and IE and firefox. Firefox sort of works, then stops streaming after a while. I can go view the link directly at any time on any browser and it works. It's just APEX FUSION that has the problem. I think they need to fix that. It's such a common need, to see your tank and see if everything is alive, not just charts and graphs... I know what the next product is they need to make after the trident, webcams that plug and play into APEX.
