    EB6 Max Wattage

    Hi Fellow ControlFreaks

I run a pair of 300w heaters from different EB6 sockets. Is there any issue in running both heaters from a single socket?

I believe the maximum rating for an EB6 socket is 8 amps or 1920 watts at 240v. Or with 2 x 300w heaters, they should pull 2.5 amps.

Is my maths correct? It doesn't seem right

    Thanks

    Rob

Those two heaters would pull between 2.3 and 2.7 amps depending on the actual wall voltage. They are safe to run in one socket amps wise, but if those are your only two heaters, I would not combine them for redundancy reasons.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

Thanks, I'm weighing up the risk of having an EB6 socket fail vs having the fans controlled by the Apex.

Food for thought. Thanks for your advise.
