    .5” sensor on 3/4 tubing

I’d like to use a 1/2” sensor on 3/4” silicone tubing. I was going to get barbed fittings. I realize this will cut down flow, but aside from that is that acceptable? I realize

This is for a canister filter. I don’t need it to be super accurate, just want a ballpark measurement to know when cleaning/maintenance of the filter is needed. When flow drops by 30% is needyi clean it, for example.

Also, I read that the flow meters have European threads. Can someone recommend a site that sells what I need to instal 1/2” sensor on 3/4” tubing via barbed fittings (any other plumbing parts I need?)

    thanks!

Depends on the flow rate of the canister filter. You might actually need the 1" depending on how much flow it has.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

About 500 gph, but that’s before the chiller, heater and in-line co2 diffuser.

    i would guesstimate 300 gph, no more than 400. 350 i guess.

That's pushing it a bit but you should be fine. All you need to connect it to tubing is a 1/2" slip to 3/4" barbed fitting and cement that into the white fittings with PVC cement. Many hardware stored carry this and if they don't you can order them online.
