Low 1-2 wattage on EB832 outlets that are turned off. Also 1A on EB8 with nothing plugged into it.

    Hello!

I have two interesting issues I am seeing. To clarify, I have a 2016-model Apex head unit:

    1. EB832: When either of my heater outlets are turned off in the programming, I am still seeing about 1-2W of power being reported on the outlet for the EB832. I would expect this to be 0, rather than fluctuating between 0.1 and 3W.

    2. EB8: I also have an EB8 plugged into my Apex. There is nothing plugged into any of the outlets of the EB8, however the EB8 is reporting a consistent 0.9-1.1A draw. Some of the outlets are on, as they have the old programming before I copied it to the EB832, but there is nothing in any of the outlets.

I'm hoping that both of these issues are just errors in the readings, and that they should truly be 0 for both. I'm a bit concerned if the EB8 is using more than a trickle for monitoring - and 0.9-1.1A is a crazy amount to consider being used for monitoring the device, IMO.

    Thanks!

    Bob

There is a section in the comprehensive users manual on how to zero the amps reading on an EB8.

I believe the same process may also work for the EB832 but I've never tried it nor seen documentation on it. I would check with Russ and/or support to verify that.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

Excellent - support confirmed that the process (via telnet) on the EB832 is the same as for EB8. I'll be running this tonight! Thanks for the quick response, and I'm super impressed with the quick response from Neptune support as well!

Quick follow-up on this - how do I do a statement in the programming based on the power draw of an EB832 outlet?

Edit: Nevermind, it's simple: If Outlet Skimmer-8_7 Watts < 1 Then ON
