    Cor-15 to 1/2 return

I have a 60g cube that has a 1/2" return line and just got in the cor-15. How do i go from the 3/4 slip to the 1/2 return. I am new to the hobby. TIA

We would need to see pics of existing. Either a reducer or rework of plumbing.

Nothing has been done. right now it just comes out of the bulkhead with 1/2" PVC. I have some flex tubing. i have a lot of options as i am just assembling the pipe work. I ordered some valves with unions from BRS and i know i am going to come off of the bulkhead with that. Everything else is up for suggestion.

Do you have a picture of your plumbing setup? It would definitely help us recommend an appropriate solution.

Attached are the pipes coming off of the bulkheads. The bigger is the 1" drain and the smaller is the 1/2" pipe to the return. The connecter on the side is the 3/4" slip off of the cor-15. Thanks again

I would not use either of those bulkheads. Slip sucks to work with and if you can get a sch 80 PVC bulkhead to fit the holes that are drilled I would get those instead of ABS in threaded not slip. Get a 1/2" male NPT threaded to 3/4" slip adaptor and run all 3/4" for your return (add a small bead of silicon to seal it good. Works better than teflon) and a 1" male NPT threaded to slip for the drain. Use lots of unions.

Thanks Zombie. So, you are saying replace the bulkheads with something like this? I am not sure if i am allowed to post store links. So something like below that i found on BRS?BULKHEAD SCHEDULE 80 SLIP X THREAD (SLIP ON THE FLANGE/HEAD SIDE)

Yes, those are much better bulkheads. The 1 thing you need to check is the hole size in your glass. Schedule 80 bulkheads tend to have a larger diameter so you need to make sure it will fit.

Looks like schedule 80 wont fit. The whole for the 1/2 is 1 1/4. I checked one that i found and it says it needs to be 1 3/8. What is my second option?

Actually maybe it will fit. I found one on BRS. MY whole is 1.252.

1/2" SCH 80 SxT Bulkhead Dimensions (see diagram)
    A - 51mm/2"
    B - 70mm/2.75"
    C - 32mm/1.25"

These are the schedule 40 equivalent with slip on the flange side and threaded on the back side. They will at least make assembly easier. Then all you need is a 3/4 to 1/2 PVC bushing to adapt the plumbing on the outlet.

Then it should fit. Your best bet is to pick them up and try them. You will be much happier with schedule 80 in the long run.
