What is the best solution if at all to monitor 3/4 plumbing. Should I purchase a 1 inch and use 3/4 to inch inch slips?

Depends on your flowrate. The 1" sensor has a rated flow range of 150-1500 gph. It would 'probably' work under 150 gph...however the 1/2" sensor is rated for down to 30 gph and up to 250 gph. I will wager that if your flowrate is around 150 gph or less, downsizing to the 1/2" sensor from 3/4" piping will have minimal impact on your head conditions. Even expanding to the 1" and restricting back to 3/4" is now without a head penalty anyway (no free work in hydraulics).
I run a UV on 3/4 piping at 110 gph, and I will be downsizing that for the 1/2" sensor.
