I have my skimate drain into a seperate container, which in turn has a float switch hooked up to a break out box.

I have it set up where the wire from the float has a male 3.5mm jack and from the BOB I have a pigtail lead with a 3.5mm female end.
    This works two fold.
    1. It makes for an easy quick disconnect to take the container and empty it.
    2. The way i have my Apex code is when I do disconnect the float lead, it auto shuts off the skimmer.
This has come in handy if working on the tank and it starts doing crazy, all I need to do is disconnect it vs
fumbling around in Fusion or looking for the plug in order to shut it down.

    In case you were wondering.
Float is set for Normally closed. This way once the level raises the float, the circuit becomes OPEN. The same happens when
    I disconnect the 3.5mm plug.

    Skimmer Code:
    Fallback OFF
    Set ON
    If SKmate OPEN Then OFF
If Output COR-20 Percent < 50 Then OFF
    Defer 002:00 Then ON
If Power Apex Off 001 Then OFF

My skimmer is a Nyos Quantum 160 and I connected its drain hose to an Avast skimmate locker with the digital output connected to an Avast breakout box. The Avast locker has a pressure switch, so when the skimmate is close to filling up the chamber it triggers the pressure switch, then the Apex turns off my skimmer and sends me an alert. You can see photos of my Avast skimmate locker setup on my Reef2Reef build, starting with post #78:

I couldn't find any reliable way of putting a sensor in the cup. I figured an optical sensor would get covered with foam, and a float sensor would probably get too much sludge on it to move freely. I figured the separate canister would be the most reliable and also hold much more than the cup so it requires less frequent emptying.
