    WAV Impeller Tool

This is a tool which makes it easy to unlock the impeller assembly from even the cruddiest, most coralline-encrusted WAV.

    Recommended filaments: ABS/ABS+, PETG
Infill: at least 40% is recommended for high strength
    Top/bottom/wall thickness: =>2mm
Support: maybe; my Wanhao D6 printers handle the beveled edges without any need for support structure; YMMV
License: CC BY-NC-ND | Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.

To use, slip the tool under the propeller, aligned with one of the locking tabs. Twist counter-clockwise.

    Download the STL: WAV_Impeller_Tool.stl

This tool right here is worth buying a 3D printer for.

I am more then willing to print for people in Canada if you cover shipping. I am out of Orange though. You would probably get whatever color I am running at the time.

Thanks for the offer! I am in the US though, not sure if shipping would make it too expensive.

Sure would be nice to find someone selling them on EBay or something?

I'm sure there would be legal repercussions because the design is not ours to sell. You could probably have it printed with an online 3D printing company though.

Exactly. There is a non commercial goods licence on it which means they cant be sold commercially. That means you probably will not find it for sale unless someone is doing it at cost.

Shapeways.com is a good resource if you don't have your own printer. I have used them for multiple projects. They offer a multitude of materials, although they are not offering ABS. If you upload the file as-is, be sure to specify metric, although I think that is the default.

I picked up 3 from 3dhubs.com for $21 including shipping. Giving 2 away as gifts. Don't think there's fill but they seem strong plenty enough with just abs.

I can print them in Orange PLA with 5 walls and 32 percent infill. I just printed two of them andthey are very strong. They each take 2 hours and 15 minutes to print on myprinter. I think $20 shipped to US is fair price for the service. Email me at [email protected] if you want one (can't PM since I am a new member). Thanks, Alex.

As an alternative, I had designed and printed a tool very similar after I skinned my thumb, twice, trying to remove the impellers. I can print and ship. 5$ a piece plus 2$ shipping up to 4. As usual, I will replace a defective one at no cost within 90 days. I usually print in PETG, but can also print in PLA, CF, or ABS if requested. CF will run an extra 1$.20180627_192746.jpg

Interesting design, may want to tweak some settings on your printer though. That infil and line thickness is a little off

Thanks for making this available. Used mine yesterday and it was much easier than using the handle of a pliers.

Printing one up in PLA right now. Has to be better than the way I am doing it now. BTW, perfect timing, I am cleaning my WAVs this weekend!

Printed in PLA at 50% infill and worked like a dream. Thank you. Cleaning my WAVs was always a little scary, as I was always afraid I would break the impeller collar. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. This thing works like a dream.

I am looking to buy a couple of these WAV impeller tools. I tried emailing 81alex9 and waited for an answer but got none. If any hobbiest can make me a couple I could send PayPal. PM me here or better yet email powers3113@gmail.com
