How to add user name and pw to media configuration

When I add "http://IPADDRESS:PORT_NUMBER//snapshot.jpg?user=[USERNAME]&pwd=[PASSWORD]&strm=[CHANNEL]" I get a messageoes not match format? I know this format works I get the still image from my computer.

There should only be one slash here: PORT_NUMBER/snapshot.jpg

    Still doesn't accept the "[ ] brackets" for user=[XXX] & password=[XXX]

I'm pretty sure brackets should not be used when you are entering a username and password. I have never used them for any of my cameras.

The brackets and caps in the example you used delineate where you need to put your own info. Don’t use the brackets.

I have disconnected my 5020L a while ago because I got sick of the low resolution, but if I recall correctly, I used. (I deleted the h in http because the forum kept changing it to a link and removing some stuff. The h should be included)

    ttp://myddnsname:1234/mjpeg.cgi?user=admin&pwd=password&strm=1

I am not 100% sure about the credentials though since it's been a couple years. I dont remember if the channel was required.

    I also vaguely remember

    ttp://admin:password@myddnsname:1234/mjpeg.cgi

I can't recall which one was the one that worked and not sure where I boxed it up to test it.

8080 might be blocked by your ISP. I know that, 23 and 80 are all blocked by mine. Also make sure you check from a device off your network (mobile hotspot, your phone, etc) as some routers dont support routing back into your lan using your WAN (at least mine doesnt).

My apex is using 80 and its portforwarded on 4567 if IPS was blocking 80 wouldn't my apex not work? When I try to view the cam on external it says connection blocked. I tried changing the 8080 to 1234 that didn't work either its confusing.

I was referring to external port. Internal can be anything except reserved like 23. ISPs and some routers will block standard http 80 and 8080 along with telnet 23 and a few others I dont recall offhand. 1234 should have gone through though assuming you used an external device.

The cam setup had the internal port on 8080 and that was the problem. I changed it to 8888 and all is working now. Thanks for all the help.

Now if I could only find a way to make my new $30 amazon YI ip dome cam to do the same i be set but I think its limited.
