Optical sensor showing OPEN when actually CLOSED

I've rebooted the FMM, unplugged the cables, power and aquabus, and the sensor that is under water still shows OPEN. I have 2 other optical sensors that are in my ATO reservoir (ATO_L and ATO_H) that are working fine (both currently under water and showing CLOSED). Suggestions?

Do you have a multimeter with a diode setting? If so you can check if the optical is good by checking the bias voltage across the diode. Should be about 1V

Yeah, checked both and they are around 1v. I decided to unplug both opticals for a bit longer to see if they would reset, and #2 did. #1 still shows open even though its in water. That said, the pump hasn't come on to continue to fill.

And I seem to be getting a weird error. The coding doesn't say this, so why would this show up as an error? At this point, both sensors should show closed, no?

That error is expected if you used the task to set it up. That line is in your email.

Ah, right! This is the first error email I've set up. The alert is "on", not the pump. Noooow I feel dumb.

Push the cable into its jack just a bit more firmly, maybe it's just not seated quite right.

Otherwise, as a test you can try switching the FMM inputs that the high and low sensors are plugged into, and seeing what they read when they should be open or closed. If the same OS is still reading incorrectly on the other input, it's probably the OS.

Also make sure your FMM firmware is current.

Turns out the connectors are labeled backwards. Switched them around, all is well.
