    In house networking.

    Good day,

The house i own has hardwired cat5 wire ran through out everyroom in the house. We set up a 24 gallon in our bedroom and want the run the Kessil A80 that is on it to my Apex Jr.
Will I be able to hook the Kessil into the wall RJ45 jack and then find where it ends and hook that jack into my VDM.?

No. Even though it uses an ethernet cable, it is not ethernet but instead uses 0-10V analog on 4 of the wires. The best method is to add a VDM upstairs and run a long aquabus cable to your apex.

I noticed in the DIY section the layout of the cable. Is it possible to rewire the plugs and make my own cable.

The cable used can be ethernet, but you cant connect it to a network because it will blow the router and/or apex. If the cable was isolated from the network and never touched a router, it could technically be used.

You also have to be careful about the total length otherwise 100% on the apex will only light the kessil to like 80 or 90% because of voltage drop. Kessils are notorious for pulling near the current limit for a variable speed port so any cable longer than 25 feet has a noticeable effect on brightness at 100%.
