New router to be installed: what do I need to do to connect apex?

Upgrading to a better router tomorrow hoping to correct some connectivity problems with apex. Do I connect the router first and then go through same steps setting up apex 2016 as I did initially.
This router upgrade will allow me to control the grandkids gaming and my connectivity issues when they’re at the house.

Assuming you're using wifi, in most cases, your new router should detect and connect to your Apex on the network automatically, with no additional Apex configuration required (possibly a reboot), if you use the same network name, security type and passcode. If you change your home network credentials in your new router at all, you'll have to then go through the wifi setup procedure again for your Apex and all other wifi devices in your home. To reset the Apex wifi, hold an unbent paper clip in the reset hole for 6 seconds (until the status light turns blue) and then immediately release it.

In a nutshell, configure the new router’s WiFi Settings the same as the old router - in particular, the SSID (wireless network name), security mode, and pre-shared key (password). Then you won’t need to do anything to the Apex or other devices using WiFi except to restart them.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.

So I set up the new router, same password and didn’t work. Like I said not too tech savvy so I did a reboot to no avail. Then I did like you said and pushed the reset for six seconds until it turned blue. Still no access to apex.local. What now?

Once its blue, it's in hotspot mode and isnt connected to any wifi. You need to access the hotspot and set up the wifi settings.
