Apex lost connection to fusion after power outage

Hello all. I am 300 miles from home and returning tonight around 11pm. Last night my home had a power outage for a few hours and now my wirelessly connected head unit won’t connect to fusion. Thankfully all of my fallbacks are set up and good to run till I get home.

I’ve seen some recommend a static IP, but have no clue how to do so. Or, would it be better to run a cable to the router?

You take a look at the ip address that is currently assigned to the apex and write down that number (ex 192.168.1.23). Then you take a look at your routers connected devices to see where its assigning ip addresses (most start at X.X.X.2 and go up, some start at X.X.X.100 and go up) and pick a number that is easy to remember, well outside the range of the number of devices you may connect to your network, and also between 2 and 254 (mine for example started at 192.168.1.2 and went up to 192.168.1.24. I selected 192.168.1.123). Set the last octet to your desired number, turn DHCP off, and reboot the apex. You can also "reserve" the ip address in your router after doing the earlier steps to ensure an ip conflict will never occur. This process varies by router.

    On a side note...

Fusion doesnt run your Apex. Fusion is used to view the programming and update the programming. The programming itself is stored on the Apex. Even though Fusion can not access your Apex your programs are all running as they normally would on your tank.

Good to know! I have my dosers set to Fallback OFF so I figured they wouldn’t be dosing. As long as there’s power my programs are running?

    That’s awesome!

As long as there is power and the head unit is still talking to modules it will run like normal regardless of whether fusion is connected. Controller operation and fusion connection are independent.

I need some help setting up a static IP. I am at the point in my router where I can reserve the IP, enter the MAC address, etc. it’s a netgear. I just don’t know what to add and what I need to do on the apex to make sure it uses the same IP all of the time.

    Thank you in advance!
