    emergency help needed

    Hi,

I have an apex classic with all the bells and whistles running my 500 gallon system. This AM, there was no response to the display, so i disconnected it and replugged it in. Now, there is a blank screen. I've tried unplugging the main cord to the base and still have just a blank screen. the system is randomly turning things on and off.

    Any help? Thanks!

    Michael

Every time I have something weird like this happen, the first thing I try is a firmware update. I assume that something caused your firmware to get corrupt.

You'll have to use a computer to install the firmware update. Just follow the directions here (https://www.neptunesystems.com/support/sw-updates/).

Unplug the display and leave it unplugged for now. Should stop the rebooting. Pretty sure I read somewhere someone having the same issue recently although it was on the Facebook page.

So interesting update...mine started doing this a couple weeks ago... unable to update the firmware on it from the web interface. Contacted support, sounds like it is probably dead.

Log into the Fusion... go to Modules, select the display and select update software on the actions drop down.

If that doesn’t fix it, you’ll probably have to contact support.

    Good Luck!

This trick only applies when the head unit is still fully functional. 4blackfish is stuck in bootloader mode because of a failed firmware update.

If it weren't for that little tidbit though you were 100% on point. The fix is a module firmware update. A lot of people try deleting the module and end up making things worse.
