If another user has the same ISP and shows those settings to work please verify the original posters settings as working. Once the settings are verified by several users it will be posted and moved to this thread here:

    http://forum.neptunesystems.com/show...-SMTP-Settings

    When posting please include:

    SMTP Server
    SMTP Port
    Email Authentication: Enabled or Disabled
    User Name: Email address or ISP username

    Please do not use this thread for requesting assistance in setting up email.

    Charter Internet Service

    SMTP Server: smtp.charter.net
    SMTP Port: 25
    Email Authentication: Disabled

    Your "From: address" must be valid. You can either use your "My Account" username that you log into http://www.myaccount.charter.net with, or you can setup an account/email specifically for the apex (after you login).

    Please clarify.... you have conflicting info here. The username is only used if Authentication is enabled. So, should Authentication be Enabled?

    My mistake, I was confusing "User name" and "From: address". I have edited my post to clarify.

    This works in Southern California also. The only change in the server: smtp-server.socal.rr.com.

    After chasing my tail for a couple hours attempting to get my .rr.com and .yahoo.com email to work (and setting up a gmx account that I realized later would not work - despite the HUGE message at the beginning of the forum), I found a service that will work. www.inbox.com. You can get a free 5gB account. You do have to turn on smpt and pop3 to get it to work, though. Below are my settings (with my actual email address replaced with <my email>:

    smpt server => my.inbox.com
    smpt port => 25
    email authentication => on

    Hope this helps!

    Hello,
    Just got my apex up and running and working to configure email. SMTP2go does work but not a fan of the 20 emails per day limit. I have Time Warner (roadrunner) as my ISP so thought I would give it a try and does work very well
    smtp server = smtp-server.twcny.rr.com
    smtp port = 25
    email auth = disabled
    user name = your email address

    I setup aol mail today using the settings below worked like a charm

    SMTP Outgoing Server Address: smtp.aol.com Set the port to 587
    SMTP Username: [email protected] (or @love.com, @games.com, etc.)
    SMTP Password: password you use to login to Mail
    For a secure connection, check the SSL option for IMAP/POP and TLS for SMTP in your mail program.

    Thank you Russ, I re-tried the configs using Comcast parameters that you've provided and the test email came thru. Now I have to try it on an outlet trigger to see if it works or not.

    Thank you again.

    For AOL make sure that SMTP Server part says smtp.aol.com and not [email protected]

    TELUS:

    Server: mail.telus.net
    Port: 25

    Set up the rest as anything you want. As long as you are on the TELUS network, it will work. No auth required. SHAW is the same with mail.shaw.ca for the SMTP server.
