You can get a free 5gB account. You do have to turn on smpt and pop3 to get it to work, though. Below are my settings (with my actual email address replaced with <my email>:

    smpt server => my.inbox.com
    smpt port => 25
    email authentication => on

    Many thanks ccotter9511 as I chased my tail for a bit as well until I saw your post. This worked for me like a champ. Took less than 10 minutes to setup my account with inbox.com and get it to fire off an email.

    Where is the turn on pop3 and smtp you are referring to? I tried 4 different emails gmail, att/yahoo/gmx before reading and now inbox. I used your setting for port and tried but no email. Do you need to type smtp. my.inbox.com or just my.inbox.com.

    See this FAQ on inbox.com:
    http://www.inbox.com/faq_email.aspx?id=1388

    Port 25 won't work in many cases - most ISPs block it outbound. Use 587 instead as the SMTP port.

    The SMTP server is my.inbox.com

    I can also confirm that AOL works. I would highly suggest everyone go with this route, it took me one minute to set up and immediately it worked.

    User Report: Working ISP SMTP Setting

    TimeWarner cable out of TX works. The settings below will ONLY work if the Apex unit resides in a location that is being serviced by TW cable internet.

    SMTP Server: mail.twc.com
    SMTP port: 587
    Email authentication: Enabled
    Username: johndoe@[division].rr.com, [email protected], [email protected]
    Password: Email Password (same as Web Mail)

    FYI.. I did use difference settings(found earlier in this thread) up until a few months ago. Then it stopped working. From that point on I had to use the settings listed above.

    i tried yahoo and aol without success.

    i got mine to work going through road runner / brighthouse.

    smtp-server.cfl.rr.com
    smtp port - 587
    email authentification - disabled
    from - [email protected]
    to - [email protected]

    just don't leave a space in front of the smtp. it had me frustrated for a couple hours until a buddy found the space. lol

    AOL still works!
    After trying GMX, yahoo, gmail, AOL is the only one that worked for me.

    Ditto what the person said above. Thanks so much ccolter9511! I finally got this to work after about four days of fighting with it!

    Does Comcast still work? I used all the settings from this thread and I am not getting a test email. Also, on the link provided to comcast for more information they show SSL encryption should be checked. Does that mean it no longer works with APEX? If not, who does anyone recommend? I have yahoo and comcast, I'm going to look into inbox.com.

    I signed up with Fusion and everything seems to be working. Is that what's recommended now?

    Yes. It's soooo much easier than dealing with the SMTP stuff.
