Internet for Fusion using cell data?

I wasn't sure where best to post this.

One of my client's is in the process of moving. His old aquarium has been sitting in a vacant house for many months without internet and multiple equipment failures are taking their toll. I can't sit by and watch this once well established 340gallon SPS dominant tank that is filled with numerous 2'+ corals slowly die. None of these equipment failures would have been a major issue had the Apex been connected to the internet.

One of my friends suggested I get Nighthawk mobile hotspot router like the one below. Would this work with a NG Apex? I do already have a new in box network switch at the house.

Yes. You will need a wireless adapter as well if this isnt a 2016 apex.

The router has an Ethernet port on the LAN side, and the OP said he has a switch, indicating to me that that he intends to use a wired connection. He does not need a wireless adapter.

The Ethernet port on that router is actually on the WAN side according to this review: https://www.pcmag.com/review/358176/...ot-router-at-t

He would have to go wireless.

Nope, that review is misleading. I have one, and use it for backup purposes should my cable modem connection go down. By default, the Ethernet port is a LAN connection.

That's interesting and good to know. I checked a few sites before I posted this to be sure and they all said it was WAN only. Guess you can't trust everything you read on the Internet

Sorry I thought "NG Apex" was a commonly used synonym. The Apex is a Next Gen (NG) / 2016 / Apex with built in wireless.

I always prefer to go wired whenever possible. This home also has three wireless networks currently(none of which have internet), so I really think wired will be the way to go to eliminate interference issues from other devices that I have no control over.
