Losing internet connection after power failure

Once power is restored I lose internet connectivity to my apex classic, unless I turn the apex off and on again. Why is this?

Possibly failing to obtain a DHCP local IP address from your router. I don't have that model of Apex, but if you can change its network settings to a static IP address, that might make the connection more stable.

This. Apex classic and Jr need to use static IP if your router boots really slow.

You need to change the last octet of the ip address to a number unlikely to be issued to another device (ex if it's currently 192.168.1.14, 192.168.1.123 would be a good choice), turn off DHCP, and reboot.

Is that in the router or in the apex I need to do this?

In the apex. There are options in certain routers to reserve an ip address that can be used as an extra step to make 100% certain the IP wont ever be assigned to another device as well.
