Placing Flow Modules? UV, Cheato Reactor?

To monitor the flow through a UV filter and a Cheato Reactor that are fed off a manifold, (with separate flow meters)

Is it better to place the flow meters on the exit of the equipment? Or monitor flow on the way in?

For the UV it shouldn't matter if you monitor the input or output. But for a chaeto reactor or any kind of pellet media reactor, I'd recommend placing the flow sensor on the input so it doesn't get clogged up if any debris passes through the output. I frequently need to clean my flow sensors that I put on the output pipe of carbon and GFO reactors. When I re-do my plumbing I will place the flow sensors on the input lines instead.
