Apex EL Upgrade

Got a chance to upgrade from my classic to the new Apex EL. It was a pleasure and I just had to get used to some of the new coding statements and Apex.local. Adding a PM1 took care of any
loss of ports that I use but now I no longer need a separate 1Link module. The new EB832 is much larger than the older EB8's. It ran my system on it's own last week while gone on family vacation
for a week and no issues and is handling the full time chores on the 150 gallon reef permanently now. Time to clean up my cables...

The new EB832 is much larger than the older EB8's.

True, in a way. But in comparison to the amount of space taken up by the equivalent of an EB8, a 1LINK module, and a 1LINK power supply, the EB832 is relatively compact Also the EB832 actually requires less width to mount due to the angled power cord - it's effectively about an inch less wide than an EB8.

You need some cable ties or Panduit to clean up all those wires.

I also noticed there are less ports on the brain so im guessing if you wanted to add them later on you would have to get a box

Correct. Basically the bottom row of the PCB was removed. A PM1 will give you the ORP back, a PM2 the Salinity and a VDM the 0-10v control... Since I had two VDM's I only needed to add a PM1 because I just recently started tracking my ORP.
