    ORP continuing to climb

For some reason my ORP is continuing to climb. It has been about 3 weeks since I set it up and about 1 week ago added fish and turtles and yet it continues to creep up. I'm not running OZONE at this stage so I don't understand why it is continuing to climb. From what i've read it's normal for it to climb as it adjusts to the conditions of the tank but i would have thought it would have settled by now and should be in the 300's not creeping to the mid 400's which reportedly seems to be at the upper end of the acceptable range. Why is this happening?

If you are running socks/Carbon, water changes, or anything that starts to make the tank “cleaner” your ORP will increase. I used to be in the mid 200s now I’m in mid 400s

If in doubt, buy some ORP calibration/reference packs and check it. Don't try to calibrate it however, as that is more involved than calibrating pH.

That makes sense, I am running a fair bit of carbon. Thank you very much.
