    Leak detection probe ruined/corroded

    Hey there.
Just bought an ald with 3 probes for a steal. Two of them are pretty corroded and dont seem to sense a leak via a test. Is there anything I can do to make them work again?

They should still work. Mine got really bad before I trashed them. I really wish Neptune gold plated them so they would last longer.

The one on the top may be beyond repair. You can try to restore it with circuit board cleaner but that one looks like the underlying metal itself may have already dissolved. The one on the bottom looks fine and just needs a little cleaning.

Contact or circuit board cleaner like this

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/CRC-QD-1...30-6/202262505

And scrub it with some fine steel wool like 0000

Maybe add solder on the non rusted area and spread it out? Kinda like returning the contacts.

Might work after it's completely cleaned of corrosion. Never tried.
