    Conductivity Probe not calibrating

Today i finally took delivery of the Neptune Apex 2016

Most of the setup procedure ran smoothly until it came to calibrating the Salinity Probe

Followed instructions but the probe would not detect being in the solution so error appears after 3 or 4 mins waiting for the calibration to complete......

Also tried calibrating within the Fusion Screen same fault.

Hope i do not have to return all the system back to the supplier to change the probe.....

Stick the probe in your sump and soak it overnight otherwise the calibration will skew and need to be redone anyway. Make sure the probe is fully seated into the jack.

Below are a few additional points the manual doesn't touch on in enough detail and often mess up first time users.

    1. For the dry step do not dry for several hours like some videos recommend. Instead lightly rinse in RODI and pad dry with a paper towel. This takes 30 seconds vs several hours and works better.

    2. Set temp compensation at 2.2 to start and float the calibration packet in your sump for at least 30 minutes before calibrating. The packet temp must match the tank temp exactly or your reading can be skewed up to 5ppt.

    3. It is hard to remove all bubbles during calibration. Many use a rubber band and invert the probe to release them all.

Same problem as in dry is out of range?

Did you let the probe soak and make sure the connector is seated correctly and fully like I mentioned in my previous post?

These probes are incredibly picky about how they are calibrated and there isn't anything Neptune can do to make the process easier. All the pickiness of the probe is due to the underlying physics.

Having spending most of my day rebooting the Apex base / PC and my router to get everything talking to each other reliably, then trying for hours to calibrate the Cond Probe.......

I decided to use my Samsung Galaxy TabPro S

and yep you guessed it connected to Apex.local and calibrated the probe 1st time.......

My PC is a beast gaming PC all singing and dancing connected to the router via Cat 6 cable
the TabPro was using wireless connection and talks to Apex perfectly.....

All readings are working now im happy with my purchase

Many thanks to all that read and commented with comments.....
