    Dos distance

I am thinking about using a dos to do auto water changes. I have a question though. How far or distance of tubing can you have? I will have to go up about 8 feet or so, then probably 20 to 30 feet horizontally from the tank to above the water changing station and drain then down 8 feet to the station and drain itself. Can that be done? Thanks.

The DOS can easily accommodate that. The unit is rated for 24ft of hydraulic head. Head is difference in elevation between the input and output plus friction and minor losses. Since the dos runs very slowly, friction and minor losses are almost negligible (I ran a simplified calc and your application is about 1ft of head at maximum DOS speed).
