    Optical level sensor issue

I am trying to setup ATO using optical level sensors and FMM. The two sensors I am using are behaving the exactly opposite way. i.e. one reports "closed" under water and "open" above water and the other one is "open" under water and "closed" above water. This really messes up the programming. They are not broken, since they both change the "state" (open/close) when moved in and out of water but in exactly opposite direction.

Is there a setting for the optical sensors to change what it should report when under water? I have another FMM and have 4 other optical sensors and I don't have this issue. All sensors there are "closed" under water and "open" above water.

Also, I am using new Apex (2016) and I have latest firmware for base unit and the module.

Make sure the module firmware is updated.

Also make sure in the module configuration page, the sensors are showing optical. If not, set them that way manually.

    Solved.

First I took the sensors out and tested in a bucket. I worked as it should have. I put it back in the sump and it started behaving weird again. Then I realized it was very close to the transparent acrylic baffle I have built in the sump to smooth out the flow and to remove bubble. That made me realize it depends on either total internal reflection or refraction angle and the proximity to the acrylic baffles was interfering with the reflection/refraction property it depends on.

Moved it far away from the baffle and it works fine now.
