    Ran out of USBs

I just got my DOS last night and was setting it up when I realized I don't have a USB port left to plug it in. I did notice an empty USB on my FMM. Can I plug my DOS's USB in the empty port on my FMM?

Yes, that is what it is designed for, so you can daisy chain modules.

Also, it uses the same cables and ports as USB, but it is NOT USB, it is called Aquabus. I say this as people think USB and if they plug in something USB, it is potentially going to fry something.

    Thank you David.
Yes, I as thinking I could daisy-chain the DOS. I just wanted to verify.
Aquabus was what I was thinking, but I could not think of the word.

It actually is USB 2.0. The reason there are warnings is that if you went to best buy and bought a 30ft USB cord off the shelf it would almost certainly have repeaters in it which are designed for 5V. If you connect a USB with a repeater in it, it will fry the repeater and potentially fry modules when it shorts.

Wrong. The fact that Aquabus operates at 12v vs 5v alone makes it not USB V.anything.

That's kinda just semantics though. If I use a Cat 5 to connect the VDM output to a Jebao adaptor it's no longer being used per the standard of Cat 5 for communication but it's still technically an ethernet cable. Obviously there are some cheapo chinese USB cables that skimp on insulation and could pose issues when run on 12V, but any reasonable quality USB A cable with 2.0 style pins and no repeaters works fine.

Oh I know that it is basically a USB cable, but if someone were to plug in a USB device such as a webcam for example, which being that USB operates on 5v and the Aquabus being 12v, will fry something as you have also agreed there with the 5v repeater.

Your analogy is invalid because DavidNZ wrote his piece about the bus, not the cables themselves. Re-read your own post in which you contradict yourself - you said it is USB but then went on to explain in a roundabout way that it isn’t.
