    Temp/Salinty adjustment 25c vs 26.5c

Just got my Apex so looking for some help on this. I realised that what I should have done is floated the calibration solution in 26.5c before calibration, which is what I run my tank at. I didn't and so the salinity reading is 5.8% higher than what it should be, right? I could be totally wrong here but this is what I think is happening.

The reading I get is 35.8ppt at 26.5c

    The difference between 25c and 26.5c is 5.8% so 35.8ppt - 5% = 34.01

Around 33-34 is what I am expecting based off refractometer and just received ICP test.

Can anyone shed some light on this, explain it or suggest a way around it to show the correct figure?

    Thanks

It varies from tank to tank, but the typical tank is about 2.2ppt per degree celcius at 35ppt base salinity or 6.7% change per degree celcius. Your reading would indicate you actual salinity compensated properly for temp is around 32.5. If you didn't let it sit in the solution long enough, that explains the 1ppt gap.

Thanks, I set the TC to 2.2. Has taken most of the day to come down but now seems to be reporting about right.
