Looking for the best option for Multipe Tanks

Hi everyone, I'm just getting ready to buy my first Apex for my 150 and 50 gallon reef tanks. They are two completely separate systems the 150 is in the wall downstairs and the 50 is in the our living on the main floor.

I'm going to have a DOS for each that will be running a continuous water change on each system. I intend to have a solenoid set up with high and low float switches on BOB's for auto filling the ATO containers. Will also be connecting a float switch in the sumps to each BOB to shut off the skimmer when I forget to kill them before turning off my return pump (seems I manage to have this brain-fart every few months).

In order to monitor PH, Temp, Conductivity, and ORP on the second tank with PM1 and PM2 modules and probes the cost is about the same or even a bit more than using 2 Apex units. I could live without ORP monitoring on the second tank which would make the single Apex option cheaper but not a huge difference.

My question is should I go with 2 separate Apex units or run both from one head unit? Which way would be better in the long run? How would each option work with Fusion?

    Thanks in advance.

When the cost is the same or similar and you don't require any interaction between the separate tanks, using two separate Apex units is better IMO. This provides some redundancy and can also act as a quick backup if one head unit fails and needs to be sent in. It also segregates the two units better in fusion

Thanks Zombie, so can you have two Apex units under one fusion account or will they have to be separate as well?

You can have many Apexes linked to the same APEX Fusion account.
