    Firmware update app hangs up

I've been trying to update my firmware and had no success.

-Apex classic with wired connection to my router
-I do see a second subnet when I run the test in the instructions
-not sure the new bootloader is working because the magnifying glass on the firmware app doesn't work, I did try to active the bootloader from the physical apex control panel but can't tell it worked. Last time I upgraded the webpage update didn't seem to work.
-I ran the firmware app with the correct IP address and it just sits there saying something like uploading firmware.
-I am considering trying a direct connect from my laptop. The instructions I found don't mention anything for windows 10. Is this a good idea and are there updated instructions?

    Any help is appreciated!

The bootloader update doesn't provide feedback. If you pressed enter, it updated it.

Direct connection is the same on windows 10, there is just a slightly different route to get to the ipv4 settings (click on ethernet connection, change adaptor options, click on ethernet connection again, then properties).
