Salinity probe stuck on "dry probe". Wont' go past and never been wet

    Hello,

Setting up my salinity probe and it won't go past the dry the probe stage. It just times out or goes on forever. The probe has never been wet.

    Suggestions?

This is the entire problem. A "dry" probe does not mean that it is completely dry. The conductivity probe should "soak" in your sump for at least 24 hours before even attempting a calibration and should then be lightly rinsed off in RODI and padded dry with a paper towel.

I had seen you recommend this on some other posts and decided to try it. It has now been soaking for about 12 hours. I will pull it out tomorrow and dry it and try again. I will update this post with my results. Thank you for replying zombie.

And don't forget to float your calibration packet. That bites a lot of people in the butt.
