So I recently got rid of my old router that lived upstairs behind my TV and replaced it with a Google Wifi setup which has 3 bridged wifi points. This allowed me to place one point where my old router was behind my TV, one point in my office for my computer and the last point down in the basement to live with the tank. I previously had a TP-Link bridge/repeater connected to the tank's Apex Classic for Fusion but it was error prone. The Google WiFi has been great and is supposed to alert me if there are any connectivity issues.
My question is can I complete a firmware update without running a 100 foot Ethernet cable from my office computer down to my tank and just use the Google WiFi as configured? When the warnings state that the Apex needs to NOT be connected wirelessly for things to not go badly... does this count? Or are they really trying to say that you should always have a direct Ethernet cable connection between your computer and Apex?
