    Salinity probe issues

I have had the salinity probe for about 2 years working fine. All of a sudden it started dropping. It ended up all the way down to 28 over about 2 weeks. I decided to recalibrate. When it was done it read 34.9 in the solution. As soon as I put it back in tank it continued to rise up to 45. I made sure all air was out of it many times.
At this point figured the probe had just gone bad. Bought a new one and the exact same thing is happening.
I did the dry, set it at 2.2 since I have a second temp probe. Left the solution in sump to bring to temp. Tapped all air out of it.
One thing I did notice while calibrating was when it was in solution for about 2 seconds the number on the screen dropped to 0 then back up to whatever triple digit number it was at.
Do you think the module is bad???

I've calibrated it a few times before and no problems ever.

    Thanks

Try unplugging the probe, quickly calibrating, and then plug it back in and calibrate proper. This resets the probe curve.

    Hi
Anyone knows why the salinity probe with the time starts to increase the results ? I’m sure that my salinity is stable checking with refractometer. It stars from 33 like 2 months ago and then went to 35.1.
I took the probe aún , soak into tap water to clean and then install it again and he goes back to 33.
    Anyone knows why?

Residue can build up on the probe that makes the distance that the voltage is detected shorter and thus incorrectly read high. Though your change is somewhat unusual. I usually clean and calibrate my cond probe every 3 months or so and have yet to see it change more than 0.5
