    EXTRA EB832 vs 1Link MODULE

Getting a couple of WAV pumps and using my EB832 to power and link it into my Apex system

    BUT

In the future if I add monitoring to another tank or need more 1Link connections and power points for other modules, would it not make more sense to add an extra EB832 rather than add a 1Link module? Here in Canada the EB832 cost $340 vs the 1Link at $200. The two areas would be physically linked by only a Aquabus cable.

Am I missing something? Is it that simple?

If I do add an extra EB832 can I also add a second set of probes using the ports on the second EB832 ?

    Thanks John ... Controller Newbie

If you have use for more outlets, the EB832 is better than buying a 1link.

The EB832 does not have probe ports. If you need extra probe ports you need to get a PM module

PM1 gets you (1) pH or ORP, (1) temp probe and (6) switch inputs (1 BOB)

PM2 gets you (1) cond, (1) temp probe and (6) switch inputs (1 BOB)

These do not come with probes, so those have to be purchased too. Add as many or as few as you like to meet your input requirements and budget.

Looks like a separate Apex would be almost cheaper than buying the four probes and the THREE PMs you would have to buy .. that is crazy

No. There are no multiple probe modules. If you want all 3 plus temp then it's honestly cheaper to just buy another full kit.

Another option is to look into what it would take to make a shared sump between your two systems. If you do that you don't need extra probes and you might simplify your system quite a bit since you would also only need one ATO, one dosing system, and you effectively increase your water volume substantially.

But if he adds a second EB832 to his existing Apex module will he still be able to control those outlets on his phone app for the apex? I have that set up and i see the EB832 on my laptop but there is no way to get to them and turn them on and off mobile wise. At least i want to know is there?

If you can see the additional EB832 outputs on your laptop, you can see them using the app as well. It’s the same Dashboard. The columns just wrap when you are using a small screen mobile device.

I only see them on the Outlet icon with all the other ports. Not the main screen with the sliders for labeling them and turning them on and off.

Do they appear on the Dashboard when accessing Apex Fusion with your laptop? I am guessing that they don’t. If so, you need to drag the tiles out of the hidden/unused tiles bin into the dashboard and position them as desired. Click the padlock button to show the unused tiles bin.
