Update the firmware until it fully takes. If the behavior continues after a successful firmware and webpage update, contact support.

The display being blank is just a symptom. It is not the problem you need to address, which is that the firmware update was interrupted or failed and that the Apex is in bootloader. The display is blank because the Apex is not fully booted up.

    Do this:

-Power OFF your controller including disconnecting any secondary power
    -Start the firmware update
-Wait for the firmware updater to 'timeout' once or twice
    -Power up your controller
-This may take a couple of tries, just repeat the process starting with powering OFF the controller

NOTE: There cannot be any Wi-Fi in the path between the Apex and the computer. Do the above with Wi-Fi turned off in your PC or Mac, the PC or Mac connected directly to your router with a network cable, and the Apex also directly connected to the router with a network cable.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.

States "trying to connect:attempt 49" and it continues to try and connect.

Ok I'll work on that now. Have it connected directly from the computer to the apex with network cable.

Didn't seem to work, it just kept on attempting access over 150 time and was continuing. I had everything unplugged during that process. I really appreciate everyone's input.

You have to plug the head unit back in after it fails a couple times.

Did you set your ipv4 settings to be in the same subnet as the apex?

Ok after almost a week I'm back up. Man that was stressful but I learned from my mistake, well mistakes. I need to pull the system from my tank and hook it directly into my router. I thought just my laptop but it was both.
Never do a update wirelessly. There I told myself again. Anyways. Thanks for everyone's help that took time out of there life to help a fish guy out. Much appreciated!
I'd buy you all a beer next year at Reef a palooza.....

It seems hard now days to buy a laptop that has either net ports. Took me a while but I finally found one to purchase just for the purpose of using a lan line for Apex updates.
I use a 50 foot cord from my apex to laptop and a shorter cable from laptop to router.
Glad you figured it out, you had some great folks helping you along too.

USB to Ethernet adapters are readily available.
