There was a thread a few weeks back that gave a solution to controlling a 1000w heater with an energy bar with some sort of expansion socket. I think it was RussM that suggested a particular one.
Can someone point me to that device?
Thanks

I don't think they make those anymore. Hydroponics manufacturers still do, but they are pretty expensive.
Is there any reason why you want to use a 1000W heater instead of multiple smaller heaters?

The heater was a generic example. I remember reading a thread that russ gave a solution to utilizing an apex outlet to control a device that draws more that its rated limit. I don't remember the price and didn't save the link either. but it looked a lot like the old neptune socket expansions.
Contractors or relays can be used for that purpose, but they is very little in the way of prebuilt UL listed enclosures that would be plug and play.
You may be referring to this, which is just one piece to make it work and needs to be wired to a cord and duplex.

This would be useful for something like a large string of halides on a very large tank that needs like 8 or more.
