TRIAC Outlet on EB8 Always on

I have an EB8 that is probably about 5 years old and discovered last night that outlet 2 is always on now. I can change the state in Fusion, but it doesn't actually turn off the outlet. I've also found that I am unable to enable logging on at least one of the other outlets.

Anyone ever had this happen? Any ideas for a fix? I'm not really interested in dealing with support, since it is way out of warranty, I'm just going to have to pay to get it replaced.

If you want it repaired, you still have to create a ticket and send it in.

What device do you have plugged into it?

If you have a low wattage device plugged in that is expected. If that is the case, either use an outlet splitter and parallel the device with more load (heater, light, etc) or move it to outlet 4 or 8.

I had a return pump plugged into it. I got suspicious when I attempted to turn it off while performing some tank maintenance. I then tried another pump and a light on the same outlet and was unable to turn them off.

I'm pretty handy mechanically and electronically... I found a walkthrough on Reef2Reef on how to fix it (total cost will probably be around $5). With how old it is, it isn't worth paying Neptune to fix it. For what they are asking (based on my other interactions with Neptune Support), I'm sure it would be almost as cost effective to just upgrade to an EB832.

Support typically charges 30-50 for repair plus shipping from what I have gathered if it's something simple like just a triac replacement. If the board needs replacement too, then EB832 would probably be worthwhile.

It's not worth it to me to pay to have a triac replaced when I can do it myself and not have to worry about how I'm going to control my tank for a week or more to send it in. If it ends up being more than just the triac, I'll probably just let it be.
