Hard wired APEX does not reconnect after power loss?

Since I started a reef tank, I have had more power outages in the last 6 months than probably the last 4 years. What I have discovered is that my hard wired 2016 APEX does not reconnect to the internet after a power loss unless I manually disconnect and reconnect the ethernet cable at the head unit. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix?

I have been lucky that either I have been home or my kids and wife were home to get it reconnected after a power loss. (Important as I have had issues with my return pumps after power outages where they ramp up too much and keep the sump pump chamber empties faster that it fills causing the top off to run too much.)

    Thanks

The 2016 doesn't usually have this problem since it can request an ip address while running, but the fix for the classic units with this problem(they can only request IP during boot cycle) is to disable DHCP and select a static IP address that is outside your routers normal DHCP pool.

I have the new apexel controller after old apex classic went bad. The new apexel controller after a power failure would not connect to the internet, had to plug a 12 volt power supply to the apexel connected to my solar system as backup power. Working with no problems at this time.

Thats odd. I have my apex hard wired. I had a tree fall taking out a power line. It was out long enough to out last my primary battery back up APC UPS. Without my UPS the only thing that works are my 2 MP10's with run off the EchoTech marine battery Backup. When the power was established the system started right back up and logged in just like nothing ever happened. I live in Florida and we have bad thunder storms which momentarily turn the power off so a UPC is a must. I am wondering if this may be a problem with your set up because I do not have to log back in.

Had a power outage the other day as well. Mine is wired to the router. But I have to manually go back in through the display on my classic gold and reboot the system to het connected back to fusion and heartbeat. Does a static IP address fix this?

In most cases a static will fix that issue.
