    Red Sea Foundations A viscosity

Anyone ever have issues with the calcium in a factory mixed bottle being too thick for the DOS to properly suck it out of the 1000ml bottle? Made a
Cap to fit right on the Red Sea bottle but the calcium just won’t come out. Alk is doing ok. Dilute with RODI?

You probably just didn't make a good seal on the tube or straw.

I actually changed out all the hardware in an attempt to fix it- new “L” neck, through cap fitting, and acrylic stem. Same result. Are you saying the DOS should be able to pump this viscosity? I did not see crystals.

Well- you are right about the setup. I put the plain hose from the DOS into the bottle and it sucks it up so something in the homemade bottle setup is the issue.

Update: issue was the acrylic stems. For some reason the calcium does not like them. Put a pc of ice maker line in the bottle in place of the hard acrylic tube and all is well!
