    Kindle or Apex display?

Normally I control my apex through Fusion on my phone. However we are going on vacation and a friend will be stopping by to feed the tank. I want to make things as foolproof and easy as possible.

I know the Kindle Fire 7 works well, but once in a while my Apex loses Fusion for unknown reasons. I'm assuming that since the display is hard wired it doesn't need Fusion. Am I correct?

If you use a tablet, you can use apex local instead of fusion. As long as your apex doesn't lose all network connection it can still be used. I prefer tablets myself.

That would be perfect. How would she log into Apex Local on the tablet? We tried on her phone and it didn't work. I assumed one had to be hardwired to use apex local...can the kindle be hardwired to the Apex brain?

    THanks for all help,

    Cindy

Most browsers you can just type apex.local into the browser (replace apex with the hostname if you changed it), but some require you to enter the IP address of the apex instead. That can be changed from DHCP to a static value that is easy to remember if the hostname doesn't work (ex if IP was set to 192.168.1.23 you could disable DHCP, change the IP to 192.168.1.123 and reboot).
