    Sick of Dosing Manually

I've been maintaining Ca and Alk manually over the last few weeks. My tank consumes about 30ml Ca and 8-10ml Alk every day. I have some BRS 1.1ml/min dosing pumps I bought about 2 years ago, but I'm a little afraid to try and use them. I keeps seeing posts all over the internet where people screw up their tanks by over dosing.

Is this what I'd need for the pumps? Should I do anything different because I'm running a DOS for my water changes twice a day?

    Calcium:

    Fallback OFF
    OSC 000:00/004:33/235:27 Then ON

    Alkalinity:

    Fallback OFF
    OSC 000:00/001:13/238:47 Then ON
If pH > 8.50 Then OFF

Do most of you dose throughout the day, or run Alk a night when the pH is low?

I would adjust to hourly to limit precipitation more and run a quick 1 minute test to verify the actual flow rate of the BRS pumps. They vary a little from 1.1.

I would not dose ALK only at night. While you benefit pH variations by doing that, you also cause a drop in ALK during the day when corals use the most ALK. It's best to dose slowly over 24 hours.

Agree. I set up to let ALK and calcium dose 24 hours a day and it is rocksolid now. Regardless when I check it. The DOS handles the formula to distribute accordingly.

Do I need a Set OFF after each Fallback OFF statement for these dosing pumps?

The OSC command has explicit ON and OFF states, so a Set statement need not (and should not) be used in the same program as an OSC
