    Skimmate Locker code and alarm

I've asked this several times previously but the various codes have always failed or missed in one way or another as it relates to alarms because of the limitations, more potential for errors, etc.

So I changed my overall alarm system to sound every 5min, tricking an alarm to sound more than intended hasn't consistently worked. I thought tricking it to pause might be easier.

The goal of this alert (full skimmer) is to have a single virtual outlet which says 'hey that switch is open (on) let's turn on (virtual outlet) but then shut off after 1min and then turn back on 8hrs later for 1min. Additionally ignore anything happening in the night'.

I envision something not unlike a dosing program that turns on below a pH but then only runs in intervals until it's risen to a higher pH and can't run during evening hours.

The pit falls I've ran into seem to be that the alarm either won't sound during the day if triggered at night, won't shut off as intended, and/or won't repeat.

*I do not want to play the game of multiple virtual outlets playing tag. It's very confusing and cluttered.

Thanks for the patience and help!

I gave you programming that does that in this post: https://forum.neptunesystems.com/sho...l=1#post144988

All you needed to do is modify the specific values and times to your preferences (and maybe change CLOSED to OPEN in the last line)

    [Locker_Full]
    OSC 0:00/1:00/239:00 Then ON
If Time 21:00 to 07:00 Then OFF
    If Locker CLOSED Then OFF

    • The OSC line attempts to turn on the VO for 1 minutes every 4 hours. (you really only need 5 seconds, but 1 minutes is easy to work with; the goal is simply to try to turn on the VO briefly)
    • The If Time line keeps the VO off during nighttime
    • The last line keeps the VO off if the skimmate locker switch is closed

Thanks Russ I'll try that again, and had reread that before this post, something wasn't working correctly because it would never sound if it triggered at night. Probably something I typed wrong.

I just ran OSC at a 5min interval to test, seems to be working so something I did was either conflicting or not typed correctly.

    Thanks again!

I'm having mixed success with the alarm working.
My current schedule looks like this.

If Time 08:00 to 08:01 Then ON
If Time 08:01 to 17:59 Then OFF
If Time 18:00 to 18:01 Then ON
If Time 18:02 to 07:59 Then OFF
    If Locker CLOSED Then OFF

I added the off schedules because it wouldn't shut off until it was resolved. I also reversed the phrase If Locker CLOSED Then OFF but neither worked in the current configuration.

Any obvious reasons why the 1min on period isn't working?

Always remember "last true line wins"

    Set OFF
If Time 08:00 to 08:01 Then ON
If Time 18:00 to 18:01 Then ON
    If Locker CLOSED Then OFF

So how do I get it to stop alarming with that program? I'm trying to get a 6pm and 8am alarm, once but not perpetually.

What I just posted as an edit to your code does exactly that assuming the locker opens when full. If it closes when full, change CLOSED to OPEN.

You also have to call the VO out in your email

If Output VOname = ON Then ON

The set off is what was missing for me, it's working great now.

If I set up a power usage alarm is there a way to set a virtual outlet up to hijack that alarm and control its timing in the same way as above?

*or any other way for that matter if a virtual outlet doesn't work or isn't considered best.

Yes. Same principle as the locker alarm above. Give it time windows and turn it off when the alarm is active.
