    Salinity settling in calibration

In a manual calibration of the salinity probe what should I expect to see for dry and 53k solution?

Furthermore what do these numbers even represent?

From my memory the last time I calibrated I think the dry number was around 60 or 70 and the solution was 700. The values are somewhat arbitrary but they need to be different and fairly far apart. Values of 200 dry and 400 wet would probably show signs of a bad calibration procedure. Also a value of 1000 is a bit strange. You may have air bubbles lodged in the tip when switching to the calibration solution. You'll calibrate it to 35 or close and put it in your tank and find it jumps to 49 or really crazy value.

Thanks Eric, I tried recalibrating and it read 68 for the low (started at 83 again) and waited for it to stay constant for 1min.

The high end jumps right to 1000. Watching it it would lead me to believe the scale is maxed at 1000 for no particular reason.

The probe is clean without a doubt unless an invisible film is present.

What solution did you choose from the drop down when doing the wet calibration?

Good clarification, I made sure to use the 53,000 one.
